Come and visit us at stand U205 as we exhibit the very finest of our specialist ingredients at a show created specially for the flourishing casual dining sector.
Now in its fifth year, Casual Dining is the award-winning trade show dedicated to the restaurant and pub sector, taking place on 21-22 February at the Business Design Centre in London.
Casual Dining attracts over 5000 operators, features a free keynote programme of leading industry speakers, and this year Maws are proud to be one of the 200 food, alcohol, soft drink, technology and equipment exhibitors welcomed to this unique show.
Launched in 2014 following expert consultation with leading industry operators, The Casual Dining Show answers the demand for a dedicated trade show aimed at the casual dining market, in which the UK is fast becoming a world leader.
High-streets over the past two decades have become dominated by familiar names such as Carluccio’s, Pizza Express, Wagamama and Strada, that now sit comfortably alongside a host of local restaurants, bistros and cafes, whilst over the same period traditional pubs across the country have increasingly shifted their focus to provide a quality food offering, securing the gastro-pub as an integral part of the UK food scene, and raising the catering game in established hostelry chains such as The Slug & Lettuce and O’Neills.
Collectively these factors have delivered an upsurge in casual dining that has created a sector currently estimated to be worth around £5 billion pounds.
A taste of success
There’s no doubt the UK casual dining sector is currently facing challenges, with margin pressures mounting as a result of higher labour costs, business rates and food prices. Meanwhile near stagnant wage growth (remaining below inflation for the past year) has squeezed disposable incomes, making consumers more value-sensitive in their discretionary spending.
With these challenges in mind, Maws will be displaying a carefully curated selection of comestible goods including both pre-made products and ingredients designed to add fresh dimensions to menus – creating the type of novelty and excitement that effortlessly converts into enduring popularity.
As successful wholesalers, our aim has always been to competitively provide the very finest speciality ingredients available internationally, alongside the best traditional locally produce sourced from our enviable location on the Kent/Sussex border, while always considering varied ranges of dietary choice and requirements and environmental impact.
Addressing these factors with some unique, inspirational and delectable produce, Maws are looking forward to presenting:
